One Foot In Front Of The Other

These aren't my boots, I discovered them like this at the Chatham Badlands a few summers ago. The funny thing is who ever wore them had similar feet to mine (flat) as my boots wear pretty much the same way.

Here we sit a whole new year ahead of us. It's easy to get overwhelmed with what you need to accomplish in any given year. It helps to take the long view and focus on each project individually and just work your way through them as best you can.

The real trick is not being diverted from your task by other things that while they might seem more interesting or acheivable will ultimately rob you of time and effort on the current goal in front of you. Time is your most precious commodity and as there are already a number of thieves stealing seconds, minutes and hours from you already, you personaly don't need to add to the draw.

The focus for me this year is to get the sequel to Devil's Gambit out by late Spring and if possible Augmented my first person SciFi millitary thriller out as well. Because in June I'll be taking time to go to Colorado and do a lot of riding in and around Moab and Colorado Springs in prearation for a follow up book to Two Wheeled Maniac. And yeah, I'll be doing all of this while still holding down a day job that can suck up up to sixty hours of any given week. Does it make things a chellenge? It sure does but you just keep putting one word in front of the other and it's amazing how much you can accomplish when you don't let other things get in your way.

So here's to a Happy New Year full of new experiences that lift you up and carry you forward.
